five30five® is a community-led play festival designed for programmers who want to surface new voices without slush-pile overload, opaque selection politics, or extractive “one-off” models.
What “five30five” means: short work (around 30 minutes) inside a tight festival container — built for momentum, clarity, and conversation.
The purpose is simple: discover new plays, tell new stories, and make live, analogue performance matter again.
Most new-writing pathways fail for predictable reasons: too many submissions, too little clarity, and selection processes that can’t be defended without politics.
five30five® replaces that with a format that is:
fast-cycle (time-bound showcase energy)
transparent-by-design (clear rules + integrity note)
